Evaluation of the Diagnostic Quality of Chest Radiographs

Introduction: With the advancement of conventional radiography to digital, digital chest is commonly performed these days. The role and importance diagnostic quality radiographs are help radiologists clinicians in diagnosis diseases their management, as well prevent misdiagnosis any pathology. This study was an attempt quantify by evaluating depiction anatomical details other technical factors. Method: A total 450 radiographs, produced at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, were selected for over two months period. Five image criteria i.e. coverage, rotation, adequate penetration, inspiration, scapula out lung fields evaluated tabulated. Results: Out taken study, only 22.2% fulfilled all criteria, rest 77.8% either lacked one or more criteria. Conclusion: Many factors affect radiographs.
